A plan to start an annual Scent Art Festival in Seattle. USA.

Inspired by the Scent Art Festival in Riga, Latvia https://www.scentartfestival.org/

A small group of scent art enthusiasts will get together in person once a quarter at Donna’s home studio in West Seattle, to share ideas for future scent art projects.

In an attempt to reduce social media distraction & consumption - Instagram posts will be occasional, edited versions of website posts.

As a realist, I am keeping all lines open, but leaning more into keeping this website updated more regularly, and reducing my time on IG.

Do you have a young friend with a curious nose?

A budding scent detective? They can be any age, but I did design this with a younger friend in mind who is almost three years old.

Its a scent walk yes, but its extra fun because of the handmade personalized SMELL DETECTIVE badge.

You might walk by it every day, but not stopped long enough to touch the fragrant plants growing all over your neighbourhood. 

Back up a minute, but HOW IS SCENT ART?

Great Question! 

Lets review what Art can be: Art makes us think on things outside of our everyday life boxes.

A consciously planned scent walk is art in a few ways. 

The little Detective booklet I made is a work of art for sure in a more traditional sense, but then as you engage in the walk, you also will look at the gardens of your neighbours more like paintings in an art gallery, as you stop to examine, touch and smell the natural ephemeral works. “
